greenerApps users can increase their productivity and expand communications options by taking advantage of many of the built-in features of Force.com, the versatile platform on which greenerApps is built. The options listed below and many more are described at www.salesforce.com.
Email communication
A number of helpful email features are built into Force.com. While you are logged in to greenerApps, you can use your own email address to send messages such as scheduled reports, automated reminders and bulk messages.
Web publishing with Force.com Sites
Force.com Sites enables you to create public websites and applications that are directly integrated with your greenerApps installation —without requiring users to log in with a username and password.
Workflow & approvals
greenerApps uses Force.com's workflow engine to improve communication and collaboration among your inventory team. Workflow is the automation of the following types of actions based on your organization's processes:
- Tasks - Assign a new task to a user, role, or record owner.
- Email Alerts - Send an email to one or more recipients that you specify.
- Field Updates - Update the information in a field in a record.
- Outbound Messages - Send a secure, configurable API message (in XML format) to a designated listener.
Document management and Google Apps integration
greenerApps includes several options for managing documents. Notes and attachments can be added to any record in the system. Files can also be uploaded to a secure knowledge management application called Documents. greenerApps has pre-built folders in Documents for storing all of your inventory-related working files.
Another document management option is Google Apps. Google Apps is a business-focused suite of Web-based productivity services that provides powerful document editing, communication and collaboration tools. If your organization already uses Google Apps, your System Administrator can activate easily your Google Apps domain to work within greenerApps. If your organization does not use Google Apps yet, your System Administrator can set up a Google Apps domain for your organization and link it in with greenerApps.
